I can't believe this is my last wedding post! A bit sad, but I will end with a BANG!! I have some really gorgeous evening shoot photos for you, a few party pictures and of course the wedding video!
I will continue the story where I ended it the last time, just after dinner. While our guests were enjoying those delicious cookies and coffee, we walked back into the forest to do a little evening shoot. Because of all the love and joy, we couldn't act like normal people. (and because we suck at being normal people) We ended up giggling, laughing and acting like teenagers. Being newlywed is just too much fun!
At my final dress fitting I realized the gown was too fancy to dress like my usual boho self. Untill that day I was looking for a knitted cardigan to wear in the evening. I also made a hairpiece out of an old (gold leaves) necklace, but it felt a bit crafty. I wasn't super happy when I saw myself in the mirror and started a speed-search to find a more fitted jacket and an elegant hairpiece. Best decision I made! Although I regret not wearing a knitted piece on my wedding day (I live in knitwear), this white wool-look a like cardigan was a good find and that hairpiece... oooh my!
I am in love with my golden leaves hairpiece by Avigail Adam. It is so gorgeous, delicate and just perfect for me, my dress and my day. Very elegant, not crafty at all! And I was still my boho self, walking through the woods with pinecones and twigs in my dress ;)
The necklace below was made by Layered and Long, also via Etsy. My sister gave it to me, although I selected it myself to make sure it matched my dress :)
This is our favorite picture of us, you can see the joy and love we felt that day. Happiness! :) ♥
At the time, the wedding ring felt so awkward, I am not used to wearing rings. Except for my engagement ring, but I had to get used to that one too! And now, after 4 months, sometimes it still feels weird to wear two rings. I guess in a few years I won't even remember what it was like nót to wear them. I wouldn't want to miss them for the world!
Stefan decorated these willow branches for our ceremony backdrop by burning in little drawings. It took forever, but it looks so incredibly good! He made two 'totems', one for each of us, with drawings saying something about me, like some highlights of my hometown Amersfoort, cute patterns, the initials of my family, leaves, flowers, birds and so much more cool things! You can find something new every time. On his 'totem' are the initials of his family, drawings of the ocean, a turtle, important dates, a bat and other things typically for him.
We had to break down the arch and take it home in pieces. (someone crazy even suggested we could burn it all! :S) The two totem branches are in our living room now. To be treasured and definitely NOT to be burned to ashes ;)
It is a good thing we did a shoot by the campfire, because that is were we actually spend the entire night. We both usually feel awkward at parties and aren't the best dancers, but we did create a 5 hour playlist on Spotify! A super awesome 80/90's mix, with everything from Pearl Jam to Spice Girls and back, because it was our wedding day and you want a kick-ass party on your wedding day! Sadly too much people left early, so our party area felt huge and empty. We laughed so hard at ourselves and tried our best, but it just wasn't meant to be. After a hour or so, we turned the music down and continued the party at the campfire. We dragged all the beer and wine we could find outside, served french fries in the middle of the night, laughed, talked, said things we don't remember (go booze!) and enjoyed the company of our sweet friends and family untill early in the morning.
It was a kick-ass party, just not at the dancefloor. It was more us, we didn't feel awkward at all and looking back, some of the best memories are from that night. The fries still come up every time people talk about our wedding :) Best night ever!
Speaking of memories.. we created this memory photowall in the hallway. We printed out a huge pile of photos of us, from the day we were born untill the bachelor parties. On our RSVP cards, we asked our guests to fill in their favorite memory with (one of) us and we tried to match these cards with photos. It didn't work for every card, but almost everyone was on our wall, which was great! There were a lot of guests looking at pictures that evening, laughing about crazy moments and photos. A cool way to look back!
My sweet friend Marloes de Vries handlettered the text for this banner, I illustrated the leaves and did the lay-out. It was great teamwork and it made a unique decoration for our party (and now it is a great addition to our staircase).
The last photo! Danique shot this on her way home. But don't worry.. I still have the beautiful video Jamy from Life from the Inside made! He did such an amazing job on this film! It captures the mood of our day perfectly and all our precious moments are in it. He walked the extra mile for us and was really excited about this himself, which is even better! We will cherish this video forever, it is a great story about a great day. Thank you so much Jamy, you made us very very very happy with this!
Our vows are in Dutch, but after a few minutes there is just music. But let me tell you, this film is beautiful enough to watch on mute! (don't do that though, music is better ;) )
Click the 'full screen' option and ENJOY!!

Finally, we want to thank our amazing photographers too! Danique&Bart, you captured so much emotional, funny, loving and beautiful moments. And you made my styling look even better than I could imagine.. the flowers, plates and the littlest details. All the pictures are in our hearts and we are proud you guys were such an important part of our day. Thank you!
That's it. The final post about our wedding. Thank you for reading along, please stick around for my 'regular life' posts and feel free to comment below!
And we lived happily ever after... :)
