Oh Marie is back in town!

Oh Marie launch party - @ohmariemag on instagramOh Marie! Magazine is back again! Marlous and I launched the new website this Sunday, in the company of our little tribe of bloggers, photographers, illustrators and other creatives. We had a lot of fun at the launch party and I loved meeting and talking to a lot of online friends. Applause for the tribal outfits, I saw some awesome combinations! I think we can all agree Vera Bertens 'indian cats' sweater ruled the place!

I never expected to recieve gifts, but my table is filled up with presents, sweet cards and a LOT of Tony's chocolate bars now. And I must say, you guys know the art of giftwrapping! So much pretty packages, it felt like my birthday :)

Speaking of birthdays.. Nikki&Lisa rocked the cakes table with their heavenly creations! I took home 3 plates filled with leftovers, so I am probably have to take a detox month in April (remember that pile of chocolate..) Sugarrrr overload! ;) Oh Marie launch party - @annevanmidden on instagramOh Marie launch party - @annevanmidden on instagram Oh Marie launch party - @immerurlaub on instagram It was a lot of work to finish everything for this deadline but we nailed it! Marlous and Casper took care of the website, while I worked on the launch party. I never take the easy way, so I wrapped up 50 tiny cactusses (autsj), made stamps to customize the napkins&menucards, collected caketoppers, plates and glasses, created macramé planthangers&wall hangings and made flavoured water/lemonade (in my brand new taps that kept on leaking). Marlous and I transformed the little greenhouse at DRUK into a desert like tribal heaven in under 2 hours. And it looked great!

I am so proud of everything we did already and I can't wait to do so much more for Oh Marie! Marlous wrote something on the website that explains how I feel about it too: Oh Marie! is like coming home. A home where creative people can find each other, where you are not weird or and exception, but part of a family. And I couldn't be happier with my new place in this amazing family! *add a thousands smiles here*

♥ Anne

PS: Anki already wrote a blogpost on Zilverblauw about the launch, with some pretty pictures you want to see! :)

something new at Engaged 2014

Engaged 2014 - Life from the Inside | Styling by Inspire StylingSometimes you have to try new things. Last year visiting Engaged with my fiancé was one of those things. We were a bit sceptic, because wedding fairs/events can be a bit dull and not really original. But we had to change our minds because of Engaged. It is the coolest wedding event in the Netherlands, with a lot of creative and stylish vendors that understand the beauty of a bohemian/vintage/outdoor wedding. We spoke to a lot of talented people last year and got some interesting contacts out of it. It was a great day, nothing to be sceptic about!

This year, my colleague/videographer Jamy (Life from the Inside) tried something new: Enter as a vendor for Engaged 2014!  He asked me to design&style his stand and we ended up in a cool co-op stand together. We promoted each other with flyers, stories and of course with our wedding video.. which played on loop all day, so I saw it about 50 times ;) Jamy and I made a great team, I am really happy he asked my help and love how 'our' stand looked! Engaged 2014 - Life from the Inside | Styling by Inspire StylingEngaged 2014 - Life from the Inside | Styling by Inspire Styling The theme for Engaged was 'winter wonderland', but without the polarbears and fake snow ;) The theme worked out great! There were string lights, wooden blocks and rustic settings all over the event.

My concept for Jamy's stand was to really bring out a vintage, bohemian style, with a masculine touch. No pink or pastel for us, but a warm, forest cabin feel with plaid blankets, wooden furniture and glowing gold accents. It was the perfect match between both of our styles and the theme for the event. It was our little living room, so everyone could sit and watch Jamy's work feeling comfortable and welcome! Then again, all the vendors were super sweet and talented and it was really nice to meet the people behind the hashtags! ;) Engaged 2014 - Life from the Inside | Styling by Inspire Styling Engaged 2014 - Life from the Inside | Styling by Inspire StylingEngaged 2014 - Life from the Inside | Styling by Inspire StylingEngaged 2014 - Life from the Inside | Styling by Inspire Styling Engaged 2014 - Life from the Inside | Styling by Inspire Styling I am proud of our stand, all the accessoires fitted right in and the chalkboard turned out really cool! And most important, Jamy was very excited about what I did :) If you are interested in a custom made design for a stand or interior, feel free to contact me!

We can look back at an amazing Engaged weekend! We had fun setting everything up the day before, talked to a lot of interesting people, made some couples very happy with our ideas and thoughts about their plans and went home feeling satisfied (and tired!).

It was a great day, thanks to Judith&Boaz for organising it all and taking care of all the vendors. We'll see you next year! :)

And above all, thank you to all the visitors!! You were the best!

green overload at woonbeurs 2014

I visited the Woonbeurs last week and one thing was pretty obvious: plants definitely are back in our homes! The entire fair looked like a greenhouse! And yes, there was some black&white, pastel and a few tiny leftovers of the neon trend. But overall, it was green, green and more green! Needless to say.. I loved it!woonbeurs 2014 - plants | Inspire Styling journal I posted some pictures that same day with the popular #urbanjunglebloggers hashtag on Instagram. It's great to see that nature is everywhere now, I do hope people will see it as more than just a hype and don't forget about their plants and environment as soon the trend is over. But I can see some changes happening and I think a big group of lovely human beings will care for our beautiful world. Including myself, of course :)

Here's what I saw and liked at Woonbeurs 2014.. *iPhone pictures only* woonbeurs 2014 - plants | Inspire Styling journal Like I said.. lots of plants everywhere. These pretty guys and much, much more! The plant 'garland' was quite popular, I saw these at multiple stands. In this collage two of them: bottom right and upper left :) woonbeurs 2014 - Six and Sons stand | Inspire Styling journalwoonbeurs 2014 - Six and Sons stand | Inspire Styling journal This stand belongs to the always fabulous Sixs&Sons, they sell vintage items and new products. If their name doesn't ring a bell, you should check out their collection! I love just about everything they have :) woonbeurs 2014 - Combitex stand | Inspire Styling journalwoonbeurs 2014 - Combitex stand | Inspire Styling journalwoonbeurs 2014 - copper sunburst mirror | Inspire Styling journal A sunburst mirror is still on my wishlist and this one was looking pretty cool! You can see a part of the More Than Classic/Eigen Huis&Interier home reflected in the centre. They had a tropical/sunroom vibe going on, but in a very polished way. Hence the shiny mirror.. :) woonbeurs 2014 | Inspire Styling journalwoonbeurs 2014 - VTWonen | Inspire Styling journalwoonbeurs 2014 - Karwei stand, styling by StyleCookie | Inspire Styling journalwoonbeurs 2014 - Karwei stand, styling by StyleCookie | Inspire Styling journal The StyleCookie ladies did a great job styling the Karwei stand! Everybody loved it, it was one of the most inspiring stands on the fair. They combined a lot of plants, vintage items, creative solutions and DIY ideas for a complete re-brand of a DIY store. Well done!woonbeurs 2014 - beetles dress - Inspire Styling journal This dress made of beetle shields made me think twice. I love it, I even designed a tropical paradise collection once, based on these shields. But I wonder where they got these beetles, since there were a LOT of shields. I will try to think positive and assume they were collected in a good way.. *still thinking twice though*woonbeurs 2014 - Puur Anders at Ariadne at home | Inspire Styling journal My dear collegae Miranda from Puur Anders was working at the Ariadne home, to inspire visitors and promote her new collection. Remember the gorgeous 'hidden memories' shoot we did? Miranda was working on some new items with these pictures on it! So cool to see the process and to see our photos come to live in her work. woonbeurs 2014 - Puur Anders at Ariadne at home | Inspire Styling journalwoonbeurs 2014 - Plint stand | Inspire Styling journal I had a great time at the Woonbeurs, especially because I saw a lot of my Instagram/Twitter friends. It's kind of like a game, to match the profile pictures with real life persons, but it's so cool to meet social media friends. And I had so much fun with Jurianne, Geertje, Imke (always present!) and her sister. I even ended up at a cocktail hour/reception/farewell party at the 101woonideeen home (so so sad they won't be there next year!!).

Woonbeurs 2014: Great networking, drinking, laughing, sharing stories and getting inspired! :)
