This weekend was all about Engaged, a really cool wedding event in Delft. Our videographer Jamy (Life from the Inside) asked me to design&style his stand for this. Besides making it all look good, I helped him out on the event day. And of course I was there to tell visitors all about my wedding styling, illustration and rental options. It was a great day! I will write a blog about it this week :) In this new part of my wedding in the woods post you can see a lot of my styling and rental items! All our thrifted plates, glasses, the lights, candlestick holders and pretty much everything you see is part of my own collection. If you're interested, drop a line at the contact page or mail me at weddings [at] inspirestyling.com! Back to the wedding!! I remember us sitting in this gorgeous decorated room, with all our guests at the tables around us, beautiful looking food, plates, wine, candles and flowers on the table, everybody chatting away with people they just met, and us feeling so happy because everything turned out like we hoped! The food was great, I don't think our friends&family ever ate that much. My mother-in-law even tried something of every dish, which was pretty much impossible because the caterers kept putting new dishes on the table.
It was like magic: The never-ending dinner!
(it's like a never-ending blogpost too, prepare for a LONG post with a LOT of photos! :) ) My father and my sister both speeched beautifully. My dad is a writer, so I expected him to do something, but my sisters speech was a sweet surprise. She tried to do it with my brother, but speaking in front of a crowd isn't really his thing. My sister cried (again, hence her nickname "waterfall"), so I guess she was a bit overwhelmed too ;) The whole table looked gorgeous, everything tasted even better than it looked and it was perfect for our day! A family style mix-match dinner, with couscous, oven roasted potatoes, watermelon salad, curry, bread, dips and so much more! Just like we do at home and perfect for the vibe of our day! We felt the need to speech, but we didn't know what to say. It was a bit awkward and silly, I believe we just thanked everyone for coming. Oh well, at least nobody had to cry! That's a first for a speech on our wedding day ;) I love love love how this fabric garland idea turned out! It looks magical, don't you think? It made this high room feel cosy and intimate, just like I imagined it would look. I love it when a idea works out so good! During the coffee after dinner the evening guests arrived, for a smooth transition. It was both dessert for our day guests and a warm welcome for the party people :) Sadly, we didn't get to try those delicious looking cookies because Stefan and I went into the forest to do a little evening shoot with Danique, Bart and Jamy. I guess we missed out, because the day and weeks after the wedding those chocolate chip cookies were the talk of the town! I am lucky to have beautiful friends like these girls! Both inside and out! Marloes, the pretty redhead on the right, was one of the teachers at the illustration workshop I joined a year ago at Urlaub. We were friends at first sight! Our best man still laughs about how his first talk to her at our wedding: "So, how do you know Anne?" "Well, we met like two months ago". But like most things, it's not about quantity.. :)
The pictures below look like it was a fall wedding, which we might have had if our day wasn't the 28th of June. I would love to work on a real fall wedding! (hint for those reading.. ;) ) We laughed so hard when we scrolled through our wedding pictures the first time. Credits to our brilliant photographers for noticing this! Timing is everything! Sweet Anne&Alexander made this wooden box for us! They decorated it by burning in the pattern and initials and you can open it by turning the lid and she even added fabric lining inside. So many people created really cool things for us, using our stationery as inspiration. It was a joy to open this suitcase the day after our wedding! So much creativity and really lovely personal cards! Oh boy, only one post left! The party, our evening shoot and of course.. the VIDEO!!! I think a lot of people have seen it by now, especially those that visited Engaged. Jamy had the video playing on loop all day, so I saw it over 50 times this weekend. And you know what, I'm still not sick of it! I don't think I ever will be! It is beautiful, just wait and see..
