wedding in the woods - ceremony
Okay, so you know what we did the months, weeks, days, hours and even minutes before the first look. You've seen the both of us cry when we saw each other for the first time.. now it's time to really step into our wedding day! First up, the ceremony.. Again, a lot of tears here, you can spot us either crying or laughing. We don't really do neutral ;)
When we started planning we hoped for a wedding in the woods. Not just a party or dinner in the woods, but the full wedding. We scouted the forest around the venue for pretty spots a few months before our big day, early spring. This little 'valley' was the most perfect place, so beautiful! :) We also made sure our officiant could marry us outside, Stefan made a beautiful, personalized ceremony backdrop, on the morning of our weddingday our little team moved some chairs around, our best friend plugged in our favorite music...

I was so nervous when I walked down the 'aisle'. Well actually, there wasn't an aisle, but we did walk down! Down a sandy hill, where a few twigs, pinecones and leaves got caught in my dress again. We wanted a wedding in the woods, that's what we've got! ;)
I love this shot, it's one of my favorites :) And look at Stefans awesome socks! My man knows it is all about the details!
One of the best descisions we made was to write our own vows... we wrote very personal and emotional vows for each other, that not only made us two cry, but a lot of (female) guests were watering up as well. Our best man was really the best, he even brought tissues and shared those with the entire crowd. Thank you Maarten! :)
Stefan and I are definitely on the same page, we both talked about how we love nature (hence the forest wedding) and how we met (me being direct and well, a little drunk, him being stand-offish and a bit shy), we talked about the adventures we want to have together, about travelling with our firevan and how we balance each other perfectly. Our vows even matched so perfectly, our videographer Jamy jumped from me talking to Stefan talking in the video, without weird transitions in the story. Flawless :)
I will share the video in the last post of our wedding in the woods series, as a big bonus! It deserves to be the big fat cherry on top of it all :)
The 'I DO' moment! Since this face grabbing kiss we are official! (on the day I'm writing this almost 4 months of marriage! *shock*)
I love this, it is our dream setting in one photo. We couldn't have wished for a better backdrop than those gorgeous green trees. And the pinecones everywhere.. the best gift ever for an Autumn loving girl like me! ♥
This is a photo I will cherish, of me and my dear mother-in-law. On the right you can see my dad in blue and my grandmother (91!) throwing flower petal confetti and on the left you can see Stefans father. A great picture with our parents, without posing :)
Me and my sweet friend Anne, admiring each other :) She's not your typical girly-girl, but neither am I, so I loved having her around while getting ready. I didn't see her pretty look untill this moment, because she was in 'prepping' clothes that morning. It was nice to have a moment where we could see and speak to everyone and have moments like this. And like the one below, with my dear sister. She does the face grabbing kiss thing too ;)
Ohhh, I love writing these blogposts, it brings me back to our wedding day every time. I hope I can find the time to write part 4 soon! Time for cakes and champagne :)
